Tribute videos

A tribute video of a whole life, with the family's voices in it

A tribute tells someone's life in photos, from childhood to today, with voice memories from the people who love them playing over the pictures. Make one for a milestone birthday, an anniversary or a retirement, or for a memorial or celebration of life.

Add every photo you can find, old prints included. Kindred Reels picks the best, places the old prints in the right years and puts the life in order. Family can add theirs and record voice memories through one link, with no app to install.

TributeTwo Lives, Seventy Years
2:10

Made for our founder's parents' 70th birthdays: sixty years of photos, with voice memories from their kids and grandkids.

What makes it a tribute

A whole life

Photos from childhood to today, from everyone in the family. Old prints are placed in the right years, so the film runs in the order of the life.

Their voices

Relatives record a short memory from their phone. It plays over the photos it belongs to, and the music turns down while they speak.

Room to tell it

Up to about 15 minutes, in chapters through the years, with music that fits each one.

A relative's phone, ready to record a short voice memory about an old family photo.

Making a film of one day, like a party, a wedding or a reunion? That is an event film: the same way of collecting everyone's photos, without the voices or the years.

Questions about tribute videos

Yes. Many tributes are made for a milestone birthday, an anniversary or a retirement, as a gift the person gets to watch. A tribute can also be for a memorial or a celebration of life.

You send one link. Each person opens it on their phone or computer, types their name and adds their photos and videos. Nobody installs an app or makes an account, so it works for every generation in the family.

You send relatives a recording link. They look at a few photos and record a short memory in their phone's browser, with no camera and no app. In the film their voice plays over those photos and the music turns down while they speak. Voice memories come with the Tribute plan.

Yes. Scan or photograph them and add them like any other photo. Kindred Reels works out roughly when each one was taken from what is in the picture, so it lands in the right part of the life. You can correct any date.

A tribute can run up to about 15 minutes, in chapters through the years. A long one is usually ready 15 to 30 minutes after you start building it, and you get an email when it is done. Gathering the photos takes the longest, so send the link early.

Yes. You choose a few clear photos of the person, and Kindred Reels finds them in the rest so the film stays about them. You agree to this first, for that project only. If you would rather not, make an event film instead. The privacy policy says what is stored and when it is deleted.
